Do bridges really send the tokens from one blockchain to another blockchain?

No, bridges do not actually send the tokens from blockchain network A to blockchain network B.

Instead, they lock the asset in question on one blockchain network and then release a synthetic derivative token called “wrapped” token which exist in parity with the locked token on another blockchain network.
